Orphanage Charity Run to Mae Taeng – Sunday 15th November 2009

Following the hugely successful classic car meeting last month at the Yaang Come Village hotel, where more than 50 classic vehicles were in attendance (click here to see 20 photos of this amazing event!), Chiang Mai Classic Car have a charity run organised for Sunday week, 15th November 2009 to an orphanage / children’s home at Mae Taeng & all are invited!

We have limited specific details so far, but I wanted to share these with you, so that you can lock the date away in advance and any additional relevant information will be relayed onto you as & when received:

DATE: Sunday 15th November 2009

MEETING POINT: Tesco Lotus Kam Thieng (Super Highway) Car Park

MEETING TIME: From 9:00am

ANTICIPATED DEPARTURE TIME: Around 09:30

The run will go to Mae Taeng, land of the elephant camps & the ultimate destination is an orphanage / children’s home there. A coffee stop will be made enroute at the ‘plantation’ home of a Camaro owning couple and lunch will be taken at the orphanage. I am told that the orphanage / children’s home caters to disabled children of 13 years of age & upwards. The return to Chiang Mai will be at your own convenience, or take the opportunity to visit one or two of the attractions in the Mae Taeng area first.

I am advised that any & all donations of food, books, clothing or anything else suitable for 13+ year old children would be gratefully received.

So, lock the 15th November 2009 into your diaries and come & join us at around 9am at Tesco Kam Thieng for the Mae Taeng Orphanage Magical Mystery Tour. Don’t forget to fill up your tank with petrol in advance though!

Note that this Chiang Mai Classic Ca charity run to Mae Taeng is in addition to our normal monthly Sunday Social, which will be held at Ninety-Four Coffee, Nim City Daily near Central Airport Plaza, as normal on Sunday 29th November. More details of this will be sent to you soon.

Yours in classic motoring,

Ian
