|  | | |  | Paul HumphreysMy love of classic cars probably started in the late 1950's, being driven to school in a selection of elderly cars owned by family, friends and neighbours.
It was from that time that I knew I was destined to drive, and own wherever possible, cars that were a little out of the ordinary. Over the last 34 years I have been most fortunate to have driven and owned some most memorable vehicles. From my first Sunbeam Alpine convertible that I so lovingly restored from a ruin in the months before I passed my driving test, to the fine pieces of engineering I currently drive, cars have given me endless pleasure, and more than a little frustration!
A favourite dictionary definition of mine, when relating to "Classic Cars" is
"Judged over a period of time to be the highest quality and outstanding of its kind".
Therefore being a "Classic Car" does not relate to the age of a vehicle, for a car can be born "Classic". It relates to a vehicle that has a certain style, appeal and quality, either from its inception, or acquired with time.
Classic Cars are a matter of individual taste. Like beauty, a "Classic" is only a true classic in the eye of the beholder, and driver.
You will find here a selection of some the cars I have enjoyed. Regrettably, I do not have photos of many of my early classics ... but fond memories! |
