Friends of Asian Elephants – Lampang – Announcement

Dear Fellow Classic Car Enthusiast,

Here are details of this month’s Classic Cars of Lanna Sunday Run on the 27th April 2008, kindly organised by member Ally Taylor.

Be sure to get this date into your schedule now, as it looks like we’re going to have a particularly interesting day.

We meet at the Chiengmai Gymkhana Club at 10am, where there’ll be time for a chat, refreshments & a snack, before we head off promptly at 10:30am.

This month, we’re heading past Lamphun (but not as far as Lampang!) to visit the Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital. I stress this is NOT the nearby tourist attraction, the elephant Conservation Centre, but the world’s 1st elephant hospital, operated by Friends of the Asian Elephant. We will be met on arrival by Khun Soraida Salwala, the founder of & a Director of FAE and Khun Soraida will personally be showing us around their wonderful facility.

We’ll be at the Elephant Hospital for about an hour & then head back to Lamphun for our lunch stop of the day, at the ” Add Up Coffee Bar & Restaurant”, which serves both western & Thai food, where we have reserved the cool air conditioned terrace room overlooking the river. Our Sunday Run concludes at the restaurant and you can either return to Chiang Mai in convoy, or at your own pace.

As this is a longish run – about 60km each way, be sure to have your petrol tank topped up, ahead of our departure.

Please email us at contact@classiccarsoflanna.com to confirm you’ll be coming along & to advise us how many adults & children will be in your party, so that we can advise our hosts for the day of anticipated numbers, in advance.

We shall look forward to a good turnout & a great day out – make sure you’re there.

Best wishes,

Ian
