The week end was a total success and despite a couple of pit stops for minor irritations (dirty fuel & loss of water) the journeys between Chiang Mai to Lampang then on to Phayao & return to Chiang Mai, were uneventful.
The route taken from Chiang Mai to Lampang was via the direct Rte 11, a fast and fairly straight road, except for the section passing through Khun Tan National park & mountains, which is a little like a race track in parts.
